Mesmerizing. Virtuosic. Poetic. Master sitar player Ustad Shafaat Khan enthrals audiences worldwide with dynamic concerts that include Indian classical and folk music; Sufi inspired compositions; and musical styles ranging from western classical, jazz, and rock, to pop, flamenco, and African rhythms. Having performed for presidents, prime ministers and royalty around the world, Master Khan’s musical heritage can be traced back to the 16th century to the court of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. He is the son of the legendary Sitar and Surbahar Maestro Ustad Imrat Khan and nephew of the legendary Ustad Vilayat Khan; collaborators have included Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Dr. Deepak Chopra, among others. For his Ovations recital, Master Khan is joined by musicians Ryan Shah on tabla and Victor Nica on guitar.
