A program of music for two guitars: Scarlatti, Gismonti, Albinoni, Rameau & Granados
Sam Wilson & Paul Kneller will be performing a program of primarily Baroque and Romantic pieces for two guitars. The classical guitar is an absolutely charming instrument! Two guitars? All the more! The guitar holds a beloved place in the popular musical consciousness and in this program you will be able to hear the guitar in the setting of great compositional minds, Scarlatti, Rameau, Granados, Gismonti, and Albinoni! We hope you will come and share time with us as we welcome Sam Wilson to the Portland, Maine community after his recent relocation from Georgia! We look forward to sharing this music with you!
Sam Wilson is a classical guitarist from Columbus, Georgia who recently relocated to Portland, Maine. In 2018, Sam began formal classical guitar studies at Georgia State University with Dr. Luther Enloe, earning a Bachelor of Music degree in 2022. Sam earned a Master of Music, 2026, in Guitar Performance at Columbus State University, where he served as Graduate Assistant to Dr. Andrew Zohn. At CSU, Sam performed in masterclasses with David Russell, Jason Vieaux, Jérémy Jouve, Adam Holzman, Pablo Garibay, Andrew Wilder, and SoloDuo’s Lorenzo Micheli and Matteo Mela. Sam joined the faculty of the Portland Conservatory in 2026.
Paul Kneller is a classical guitarist teaching and performing in and around Portland, Maine. He studied classical guitar with two teachers in the Portland, Maine area, John Johnstone and Keith Crook. Paul Kneller holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Southern Maine, 2018. Paul joined the faculty of the Portland Conservatory in 2021.
