Celebrate the joy and brilliance of Baroque music as the Bach Virtuosi Festival opens its season with “Celebrate Summer with Bach” on Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 pm at the architectural marvel, the concert hall at the University of Southern Maine’s Crewe Center for the Arts.
This program showcases the breadth and genius of the world’s greatest composer, Johann Sebastian Bach, featuring the dazzling Concerto for Three Violins, the graceful Orchestral Suite No. 2 with virtuoso flutist Emi Ferguson, and the magnificent Cantata, “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott”, a “Mighty Fortress is our God”. Performed by acclaimed vocal soloists and chorus and the Festival Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Lewis Kaplan, this concert offers an uplifting and celebratory start to summer.
