YES&Co. Is a long-form improv comedy group that invites local people of interest to tell true stories at our shows. Our improvisers make up the rest.

This month we will be joined by Dan Marois. Dan Marois wears a lot of hats, and he’s spent decades swapping them out on stages, in newsrooms, and corporate offices all over New England. Whether he’s writing a corporate feature, reviewing a regional production, or stepping onto a stage with absolutely no script, his life is all about the art of a good story.

Dan’s theatrical roots are planted firmly in improv and interactive theater. As the founder and Chief Entertainment Officer of Mystery for Hire and Mainely Improv, he has spent more than thirty years pioneering mystery theater and corporate comedy workshops across Maine and New Hampshire. He’s directed, produced and performed in over 1000 mystery theater shows to audiences totaling about 80,000. His improv background also comes in handy in a completely different venue, working as a standardized patient actor for regional healthcare simulation centers, using roleplay to help train the next generation of medical professionals at the University of New England, University of New Hampshire and the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in St. Kitts, Virgin Island.

When he’s on the other side of the curtain, Dan keeps his connection to the stage alive as a freelance theater reviewer for BroadwayWorld.com.

Offstage, he keeps busy as the managing editor for major regional trade publications, including the official state real estate magazines, NHREALTOR® and MAINEREALTOR®.

Dan is thrilled to join YES&Co. tonight to lean into the exhilarating, unpredictable world of live storytelling. For a guy who spends his life toggling between tightly edited text and wide-open improvisational spaces, tonight is the perfect chance to bring those worlds together and say “yes, and” to whatever happens next.
