PSO Discovery Series

This event has passed.

Eckart Preu, Music Director

Join the PSO for a musical adventure exploring the instruments of the Orchestra. From the deep rumble of the basses to the sparkle of the flutes, we’ll explore each section of the orchestra and discover how all the instruments work together to make music. Along the way, you’ll see musicians of all ages on stage—from young Suzuki students to seasoned PSO professionals—showing how everyone can be part of the music-making journey.

Experience the voices of the Portland Symphony Orchestra Children’s Chorus, be inspired by a winner from the USM’s Osher School of Music Concerto Competition, and watch the next generation of musicians shine as they take the stage alongside your PSO.

Pre-concert activities begin at 1:00 PM, and the lines for the Instrument Petting Zoo and Podium Hero will close at 1:45 PM.

RUN TIME: 60 minutes, no intermission
