Wabanaki means People of the Dawnland. As the first people to greet the sunrise, they are responsible for holding up the sky. A three-part movement rooted in ancient Wabanaki music, Militakwat (pronounced mill-e-duh-kwut) is the Penobscot word for “it has all kinds of sounds.”
