Steve Grover needs no introduction when it comes to Jazz in Maine because the two are almost synonymous. Steve’s contributions through his participation in the Maine Jazz Camp have impacted generations of young musicians and inspired them to go on to become successful creative individuals. Performers in this concert have a deep connection to Steve and his music and we are humbled to be able to present this concert to audience members of all walks of life.

RJ Miller’s “Two Bass Hit”

An evening of Grover’s music from an “Electronic” point of view. Performing selections from the recordings “Blackbird Suite”, “In The G Zone”, “Breath” and “Haiku” from the late great drummer, composer and educator Steve Grover.

RJ Miller is a drummer, composer, and keyboard player originally from Maine. Known for his unique beat, Miller is also complemented by an interest in the exploration of improvisational electronic music. He’s collaborated with artists George Garzone, Masabumi Kikuchi, Meshell Ndegeocello, Ben Street, Thomas Morgan, Bill McHenry, Jorge Rossy and Jakob Bro throughout Europe and New York City, most notably at the Village Vanguard with Aaron Parks.
