Contemporary jazz works and repertoire from the jazz canon with the Dana Saul Trio
Dana Saul, piano
Adam Olszewski, double bass
Jonas Esser, drums
Maine-native, Dana Saul, brings a new jazz piano trio to Portland Conservatory of Musicto perform works by the leader. The trio has been developing a strong telepathic rapport and a new repertoire of lengthy through-composed forms which prioritize a quiet, slow-burning energy over exciting rhythmic development. Saul and his group are keen to workshop their new material and hone their particular brand of interplay for a hometown audience.
