Featuring principals Fiona Cross on clarinet, John Roberts on oboe, Julie Price on bassoon, Stephen Stirling on horn, and Caroline Palmer on piano, the wind ensemble of the acclaimed Academy of St Martin in the Fields is recognized as “an ensemble of first-rate musicians, technically superb, generously expressive, and obviously enjoying themselves.” (Dallas Morning New). Rooted in unsurpassed musicianship and a commitment to maintaining a large-scale chamber ensemble, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields was founded by Sir Neville Marriner in 1958 and is currently led by Music Director Joshua Bell. The wind ensemble’s Ovations program includes works by J.S. Bach, Claude Debussy, Amy Beach, Amadeus Mozart, Erwin Schuloff, and others along with a newly commissioned work especially for the ensemble.
