Pianist Bridget Convey presents a one-of-a-kind concert experience featuring John Cage’s Sonatas and Interludes—a set of short pieces for a specially prepared piano.

To create the unique sounds in this music, everyday objects like screws, rubber, and bolts are placed between the piano strings. The result? A mix of soft, mysterious, and percussive tones that turn the piano into something completely new. Written in the 1940s, this music is calm, curious, and full of surprises.
