The Elements Trio plays creative improvised music, drawing on a wide range of influences.
The musicians of the Elements Trio have been friends and collaborators on a variety of projects for over three decades. They’ve come together in this setting to explore their distinctive, interactive trio sound. Much of their music is drawn from or inspired by players such as Paul Motian, Steve Lacy and Thelonious Monk, but their repertoire also includes original compositions and free improvisation. In addition, they reach outside the jazz canon, working with some very eclectic material, such as music from Canned Heat and the legendary singer/ songwriter Connie Converse. All of this material is reinvented with their unique approach, striving for originality and spontaneity.
Their music, reflecting their long and deep connection, is like a good conversation with old friends.
