Performing original music influenced by film, jazz and folk music, the Clifford Cameron trio plays a wide ranging emotional narrative of virtuosic modern jazz and sensitive covers of 60’s pop music.
Clifford Cameron just finished a marathon year of releasing three albums in the span of twelve months with some of the most prolific and expressive musicians New England has to offer. These were mostly comprised of chamber music and improvised covers of music exclusively from the 60s and 70s. Now he is leaning into the dynamics of the jazz piano trio, the freedom and the interaction that this instrumentation allows, influenced by its storied past. Taking influence from the trios of Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson and Wynton Kelly to Keith Jarrett and Aaron Parks, this virtuosic trio is equally at home in an up-tempo modern jazz setting as it is in a delicate original treatment of a 60’s pop song. Come enjoy an evening of serene, personal and evocative original music as well as some contemporary spins on classics that you are sure to recognize. Throughout the evening, each piece will be woven together through spontaneously crafted musical invention by three improvisers at the height of their craft.
